শনিবার রাজ্যে পঞ্চায়েত নির্বাচন। ত্রিস্তরীয় পঞ্চায়েত নির্বাচনের আগে বৃহস্পতিবার ছিল শেষদিনের প্রচার। ডান-বাম সব দলের প্রার্থীরা প্রচারের শেষ লগ্নে ব্যস্ত ছিলেন। তার মধ্যেই নিজের গড় নন্দীগ্রামে অস্বস্তিকর পরিস্থিতির মধ্যে পড়লেন শুভেন্দু অধিকারী। চোর-চোর স্লোগান শুনতে হল তাঁকে। কনভয় যাওয়ার সময় নন্দীগ্রামে এই ঘটনা ঘটেছে। নন্দীগ্রামে এদিন তৃণমূলের প্রচারসভা চলছিল। স্থানীয় নেতৃত্বের সঙ্গে দলের প্রচারে ছিলেন তৃণমূলের রাজ্য সাধারণ সম্পাদক কুণাল ঘোষ। প্রচারসভা চলাকালীন শুভেন্দু অধিকারীর কনভয় যাওয়ার সময় শুভেন্দুকে উদ্দেশ্য করে ওঠে ‘চোর চোর’ স্লোগান। ‘চোর চোর চোরটা, শিশিরবাবুর ছেলেটা’ বলে কটাক্ষ করা হয়। তৃণমূলের মুখপাত্র কুণাল ঘোষের উপস্থিতিতেই ওঠে চোর চোর স্লোগান। বৃহস্পতিবার পঞ্চায়েত ভোটের প্রচারের শেষ দিন। সেই শেষ দিনে নন্দীগ্রাম বাসস্ট্যান্ডে চলছিল কুণাল ঘোষের উপস্থিতিতে তৃণমূলের প্রচারসভা। সেই সময় সেই রাস্তা দিয়েই যাচ্ছিল শুভেন্দুর কনভয়। সেই মুহূর্তে হঠাৎই তৃণমূলের প্রচারসভা থেকে শুভেন্দুকে লক্ষ্য করে ‘চোর চোর’ স্লোগান ওঠে। শুভেন্দুর কনভয় আসতে দেখে সভায় বক্তব্য বন্ধ করেই স্লোগান শুরু হয়। চোর চোর স্লোগান শুনে গাড়ির ভিতর থেকে মাথা বের করে বিরক্তি দেখান শুভেন্দু। বিরোধী দলনেতা মেজাজ হারান, আঙুল তুলে শাসিয়ে বলেন, অ্যারেস্ট করাব সবকটাকে। তা সত্ত্বেও চলে চোর-চোর স্লোগান। শুভেন্দুর সুরক্ষার দায়িত্বে থাকা কেন্দ্রীয় বাহিনীর জওয়ানরা যাঁরা ভিডিও করছিলেন তাঁদের সরিয়ে দেন। কনভয় চলে যাওয়া পর্যন্ত চলছিল স্লোগান।
