আজ বিজয় দিবস। বাংলাদেশ মুক্তিযুদ্ধে পাকিস্তান-এর বিরুদ্ধে ভারতীয় সেনার জয়লাভের পঞ্চাশ বছর পূর্তি উপলক্ষে নানা অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করা হয়েছে। দ্বিতীয় বিশ্ব যুদ্ধের পর এটাই ছিল সবথেকে বড় সেনা সমর্পণ। মাত্র ১৩ দিনে ভারতীয় সেনারা বাংলাদেশের মুক্তিবাহিনীর সঙ্গে মিলে বাংলাদেশকে স্বাধীন করে। এরই স্মরণে স্বর্ণিম বিজয় বর্ষের সূচনার প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদী বিজয় মশাল প্রজ্জ্বলন করেন। আজ ফোর্ট উইলিয়ামে বিজয় স্মারকে পুষ্পার্ঘ অর্পণ করে শহীদদের উদ্দেশে শ্রদ্ধা জানাবেন বর্তমান ও প্রাক্তন সেনা আধিকারিকগণ। পরিবেশিত হবে দেশাত্মবোধক গান। বিকেলে ইস্টার্ন কমান্ডের সদরদপ্তর ও ভিক্টোরিয়া মেমোরিয়ালের যৌথ উদ্যোগে ভিক্টোরিয়া চত্বরে উদযাপিত হবে ‘স্বর্ণিম বিজয় দিবস’। থাকছে আলো ও ধ্বনির প্রদর্শনী, সেনা ব্যান্ড সহ নানা সাংস্কৃতিক আয়োজন। বিজয় দিবস উপলক্ষে বাংলাদেশ উপদূতাবাসে দু’দিনব্যাপী অনুষ্ঠানের আজ সূচনা হচ্ছে ।
