বিকাশচন্দ্র ঘোষ: স্বাধীন বাংলাদেশের স্বপ্নদ্রষ্টা ছিলেন শহীদ ধীরেন্দ্রনাথ দত্ত। প্রকৃত বঙ্গবন্ধু ছিলেন তিনিই। এমনই দাবি করেছেন বাংলাদেশের মুক্তিযোদ্ধা মোঃ নুরুল ইসলাম (হাজী ইসলাম)। ১৯৭১ সালে ভারতের ত্রিপুরার কাঁঠালিয়া মুক্তিযোদ্ধা প্রশিক্ষণ কেন্দ্রের প্রতিষ্ঠাতা ছিলেন মোঃ নুরুল ইসলাম। বর্তমানে আমেরিকার নিউইয়র্ক এর বাসিন্দা তিনি। বাংলা এক্সপ্রেসকে টেলিফোন সাক্ষাৎকারে তিনি জানান, শহীদ ধীরেন্দ্রনাথ দত্ত ছিলেন প্রকৃত বঙ্গবন্ধু এবং জাতির জনক। ১৯৪৮ সালে পাকিস্তানের প্রথম গণপরিষদে পূর্ব পাকিস্তান তথা পূর্ববঙ্গের মানুষের ভাষা বাংলাকে বিলুপ্তির হাত থেকে রক্ষা করেছিলেন তিনি। যার রেশ ধরে গড়ে ওঠে বাংলা ভাষা রক্ষার আন্দোলন। ধীরেন্দ্রনাথ দত্তের সঠিক মূল্যায়ন হয়নি বলে মনে করেন তিনি।
যে স্বাধীন সার্বভৌম অসাম্প্রদায়িক বাংলাদেশের সূচনা হয়েছিল তার পিছনে ধীরেন্দ্রনাথ দত্তের অবদান ছিল সবার প্রথমে। বাংলাদেশের এই মুক্তিযোদ্ধা মনে করেন শহীদ ধীরেন্দ্রনাথ দত্ত বাংলাদেশের হিন্দু মাইনোরিটি ছিলেন বলেই তার মূল্যায়ন করা হয়নি। শেখ মুজিবর রহমানকে বাংলাদেশের জাতির জনক বা বঙ্গবন্ধু বলতে নারাজ তিনি। তাঁর মতে বাংলাদেশের মুক্তি যুদ্ধে শেখ মুজিবর রহমান কোন অবদানই রাখেননি। পাকবাহিনীর সুবিধা নিয়ে চলেছিলেন বলে বিতর্কিত মন্তব্য মোঃ নুরুল ইসলামের। বাংলাদেশের মুক্তিযুদ্ধের নতুন করে ইতিহাস রচনার প্রয়োজন হয়ে পড়েছে বলে মনে করেন এই মুক্তিযোদ্ধা। বাংলাদেশে মুক্তিযুদ্ধের সঠিক ইতিহাস যাঁরাই তুলে ধরতে চাই তাদেরকেই দেশান্তরিত হতে হয় বলে মন্তব্য তাঁর। মোঃ নুরুল ইসলামের মতে বাংলাদেশের আনুষ্ঠানিক ভাবে স্বাধীনতার ঘোষনা ও মুক্তিযুদ্ধের ডাক দিয়েছিলেন মেজর জিয়া।
মুক্তিযুদ্ধ পরিচালনা করেন তাজউদ্দীন আহমেদ। ভারতের তৎকালীন প্রধানমন্ত্রী ইন্দিরা গান্ধী তাতে স্বীকৃতি দিয়েছিলেন এবং পাকিস্তানের বিরুদ্ধে সর্বশক্তি দিয়ে ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়েছিলেন। সেই পথ ধরেই গোটা বিশ্বে স্বাধীন বাংলাদেশের পক্ষে জনমত তৈরি হয়েছিল।
