কলকাতা পোর্ট ট্রাস্টের একটি জাহাজের সঙ্গে বাংলাদেশী জাহাজের দক্ষিণ ২৪ পরগনার মহেশতলার আকরার কাছে ধাক্কা লাগে। ধাক্কা লাগায় বাংলাদেশি জাহাজ বেশি ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয় এবং বাটার দিকে পারে সে এখনো দাঁড়িয়ে রয়েছে।অপরদিকে পোর্ট ট্রাস্টের জাহাজটি গঙ্গার মাঝখানে নিয়ে গিয়ে ডায়মন্ড হারবার এর দিকে চলে যায়। আপাতত এই মুহূর্তে ঘটনাস্থলে পোর্ট এর পুলিশ এসেছে এবং বাংলাদেশি জাহাজটিকে উদ্ধার করার চেষ্টা করছে। বাংলাদেশ থেকে আসা জাহাজটি সিএসসির ফ্লাই অ্যাশ নিয়ে বাংলাদেশের উদ্দেশ্যে যাচ্ছিল। পোর্ট ট্রাস্টের জাহাজটি তার বিপরীত দিক থেকে আসছিল।
