বিজেপি রাজ্য দপ্তরের সামনে কংগ্রেস কর্মীদের সঙ্গে সংঘর্ষ বিজেপি কর্মীদের। মহম্মদ আলী পার্কের সামনে থেকে কংগ্রেস কর্মীরা মিছিল করে যখন কলকাতা পুরসভার দিকে এগিয়ে যেতে থাকে সেই সময় বিজেপি রাজ্য দপ্তরের সামনে বেশ কিছু বিজেপি কর্মী সমর্থক উপস্থিত ছিলেন। বিজেপি রাজ্য দপ্তরের সামনেই এই দু’পক্ষের মধ্যে সংঘর্ষ বেঁধে যায়। এই ঘটনার জেরে ব্যাপক উত্তেজনা ছড়ায় ওই এলাকায়। বিশাল পুলিশবাহিনী পরিস্থিতি সামাল দেয়। নাগরিকত্ব সংশোধনী বিল এবং এনআরসির বিরুদ্ধে সোচ্চার হন যুব কংগ্রেসের কর্মীরা।
যুব কংগ্রেসের পক্ষ থেকে এদিন কলকাতা পুরসভা অভিযানের ডাক দেওয়া হয়েছিল। সেই অভিযানেই অংশ নিয়েছিলেন যুব কংগ্রেসের কর্মীরা। এই কর্মসূচি শেষ পর্যন্ত কেন্দ্রের এনআরসি এবং নাগরিকত্ব সংশোধনী বিলের বিরোধিতায় প্রধান ইস্যু হয়ে দাঁড়ায়। সেন্ট্রাল এভিনিউ দিয়ে মিছিল যাওয়ার সময় এই পরিস্থিতি তৈরি হয়। বিধানসভার বিরোধী দলনেতা আব্দুল মান্নান বিজেপির বিরুদ্ধে কড়া ভাষায় আক্রমণ করেছেন। তিনি বলেন যখন কেন্দ্রের বিজেপি সরকার সাধারণ মানুষের দাবি-দাওয়া পূরণ করতে পারছেন না তখন সাধারন মানুষের নজর অন্যদিকে ঘোরাতেই এই নাগরিকত্ব সংশোধনী বিলের নামে দেশবাসীকে বিভাজন ঘটাতে চাইছে।
নাগরিকত্ব সংশোধনী বিল এবং এনআরসির বিরুদ্ধে রাজ্যজুড়ে ধারাবাহিকভাবে আন্দোলন সংগঠিত করবে যুব কংগ্রেস। এ দিনের কর্মসূচিতে থেকে জানিয়ে দিলেন যুব কংগ্রেসের নেতারা।
