পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর: বর্ষ শেষ হতে হাতে মাত্র একদিন বাকি তার আগেই পুলিশ কর্মীরা মেদিনীপুর শহর লাগোয়া পাখিবাগানের মাঠে পিকনিকে মজলেন। পুলিশের প্রিজন ভ্যানের হুডারে মাইক বাজিয়ে প্রকাশ্যে মদ্যপান করে চলল পুলিশকর্মীদের বনভোজনের মোচ্ছব। উল্লেখ্য, যে প্রিজনভ্যানে জেল খানা থেকে আসামিদের কে নিয়ে আসা হয় আদালতে বা আদালত থেকে আবার জেলখানায় নিয়ে যাওয়ার জন্য ব্যবহার করা হয় যে প্রিজনভ্যান সেই প্রিজন ভ্যানে করে পুলিশকর্মীরা গেলেন তাদের বনভোজনের সামগ্রী নিয়ে গেলেন বনভোজনের।
পুলিশের পাশাপাশি আমজনতা ও মজেছে চড়ুইভাতিতে। বনভোজন স্থানে নিরাপত্তা দিতে অবশ্য মজুদ ছিল মেদিনীপুর কোতোয়ালি থানার পেট্রলিং ভ্যান। পাখিবাগানে অন্যান্য যে সমস্ত পরিবারের লোকজন গিয়েছেন সেই বনভোজন করতে। নিয়মানুযায়ী প্রিজন ভ্যান রাষ্ট্রীয় সম্পত্তি, যা নিয়ে বনভোজন তো দূর অস্ত, পুলিশ ব্যবহার করতে পারে না ব্যক্তিগত কাজেও। আইনের রক্ষকই যখন আইন ভঙ্গকারি তখন আমজনতাকে আইনের পাঠ দেবেন কি করে পুলিশ কর্মীরা ?
