পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর : পঞ্চলিঙ্গেশ্বর থেকে ফেরার পথে ফের দুর্ঘটনার শিকার পর্যটক বোঝাই একটি বাস। ঘটনাটি খড়গপুর লোকাল থানার অন্তর্গত বেনাপুরের। জানা গিয়েছে, উড়িষ্যা পঞ্চলিঙ্গেশ্বর থেকে পিকনিক সেরে ফিরছিল বেনেপুর হাইস্কুলের কিছু ছাত্র। বৃহস্পতিবার রাত্রি সাড়ে দশটা নাগাদ ৬০ নম্বর জাতীয় সড়কে মকরামপুর এর কাছে বাসটা নিয়ন্ত্রণ হারিয়ে ডিভাইডারে ধাক্কা মারে এবং পাশে থাকা খালের মধ্যে পড়ে যায়। সে সময় শিক্ষক এবং অভিভাবক মিলিয়ে প্রায় ৭০ জন বাসযাত্রী ছিলেন। ঘটনায় আহত হয় কুড়ি জনেরও বেশি। তিনজন আহত কে গুরুতর অবস্থায় মেদিনীপুর মেডিকেল কলেজে ভর্তি করা হয়েছে। যদিও ঘটনায় নিহতের কোনো খবর পাওয়া যায়নি।
