কালিয়াগঞ্জ: ৬৪তম জাতীয় স্তরে বিদ্যালয় ভিত্তিক খো-খো প্রতিযোগী তায় বাংলা দলের হয়ে অনুর্ধ ১৭পর্যায়ে খেলতে গেল কালিয়াগঞ্জের মনিকা ও সুনু রাজস্থানের টেগর ইন্টার ন্যাশনাল বিদ্যালয়ের হুনুমানগরের ভদ্রে। জানা যায় মনিকা সরকার কালিয়াগঞ্জ পার্বতী সুন্দরী উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়ের দ্বাদশ শ্রেণী এবং সুনু বর্মন কালিয়াগঞ্জ ধনকোল মহিম চন্দ্র বিদ্যা ভবনের একাদশ শ্রেণীর ছাত্রী। এই দুই সোনার মেয়ে মনিকা ও সুনুর বাবা হত দরিদ্র দিন মজুরের ঘরের মেয়ে। ডালিমগাও স্পোর্টস একাডেমির কর্নধার তথা খো-খো কোচ বরুন দাস জানান মনিকা ও সুনু বিদ্যালয় ভিত্তিক খো-খো খেলায় বাংলা দলের হয়ে ১২জনের দলে সুযোগ পেলেও এরা মূলত ডালিমগাও স্পোর্টস একাডেমিতে খো-খো খেলার কোচিং নিয়ে থাকে।
বরুন বাবু জানান মনিকা সরকার ও সুনু বর্মন বেশ কিছুদিন থেকে কলকাতার ক্যাম্পে প্রশিক্ষণ নিয়ে শুক্রবার কলকাতা থেকে রাজস্থানের হুনুমানগরের ভদ্রের উদ্দেশ্যে রওনা দেয়। বরুন বাবু বলেন ৬৪তম বিদ্যালয় ভিত্তিক অনুর্ধ ১৭(গার্লস)খো-খো খেলা শুরু হচ্ছে আগামী ৩০শে অক্টোবর থেকে। চলবে১লা নভেম্বর পর্যন্ত।উত্তরবঙ্গ ক্রীড়া সংস্থার অন্যতম সদস্য অসীম ঘোষ বলেন জাতীয় স্তরে বাংলা দলের ১২ জনের দলের মধ্যে মনিকা সরকার ও সুনু বর্মন খো-খো খেলার সুযোগ পাওয়ায় শুধু আমিই নই আমরা উত্তর দিনাজপুরের ক্রীড়া প্রেমী মানুষদের কাছে মনিকা ও সুনু গর্বের।
অসীম বাবু বলেন জাতীয় স্তরে বাংলার খো-খো দল জয়ী হয়ে আসবে এই প্রত্যাশা ও আশীর্বাদ রইলো ওদের জন্যে। কালিয়াগঞ্জ পৌরসভার চেয়ারম্যান কার্তিক চন্দ্র পাল বলেন হত দরিদ্র ঘরের দিন মজুরের দুই সোনার মেয়ে মনিকা ও সুনুর জন্য আমরা গর্বিত। জাতীয় স্তরে ওদের সাফল্যের জন্য রইলো আমার অনেক আশীর্বাদ। উত্তর দিনাজপুর জেলা বিদ্যালয় ক্রীড়া সংস্থার সম্পাদক প্রবীর গুহ বলেন উত্তর দিনাজপুর জেলার ছেলে মেয়েরা খো-খো খেলার ক্ষেত্রে জাতীয় স্তরে খেলতে যাবার যোগ্যতা অর্জন করে খো-খো খেলার মানচিত্রে উত্তর দিনাজপুর জেলাকে নিয়ে যেতে পেরেছে তার জন্য তিনি অভিভূত। মনিকা ও সুনু একদিন আন্তর্জাতিক স্তরে যে খেলবে সেদিন আর দূরে নয়।
