বৃহস্পতিবার আনুমানিক বিকাল ৩ টা নাগাদ বংশীহারী থানার জোড়দিঘীর মহুগ্রাম এলাকায় ঘটনাটি ঘটে। জানা গেছে বুনিয়াদপুর থেকে কুশমন্ডির দিকে একটি যাত্রীবোঝাই অটো যাচ্ছিল পথে একটি সারমেয় কে বাঁচাতে গিয়ে অটোটি উল্টে গিয়ে এই বিপত্তি ঘটে অটো থেকে ছিটকে পরে ঘটনাস্থলে মৃত্যু হয় আশিক রোহন(৬) নামে শিশুটির। সে বুনিয়াদপুরের একটি বেসরকারী স্কুলের ছাত্র বাড়ি কুশমন্ডি থানার চাকদাহ পাড়ায়। ঐ ঘটনায় শিশুটির মা সুরাইয়া বেগম সহ ৪ জন আহত হয় স্থানীয় রা তাদের উদ্ধার করে রসিদপুর হাসপাতালে পাঠায়।
এরপর স্থানীয়বাসিন্দারা পথ অবরোধ করে। যার ফলে যানজটের সৃষ্টি হয়। ঘটনার খবর পেয়ে বংশীহারী থানার আইসি বিশ্বজিত ঘোষ ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছে অবরোধ তুলে দেন এবং মৃতদেহ উদ্ধার করে ময়নাতদন্তের জন্য পাঠানো হয়। এই মর্মান্তিক ঘটনায় এলাকায় শোকের ছায়া নেমে আসে।
