ভয়াবহ কোভিড পরিস্থিতির পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে পরীক্ষার্থীদের সুরক্ষা ও স্বাস্থ্যের বিষয়টি বিবেচনা করে বিভিন্ন স্তরের জনমত এবং বিশেষজ্ঞ কমিটির মতামতকে গুরুত্ব দিয়ে গত ৭ জুন উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষা বাতিল বলে ঘোষণা হয়। সেইসঙ্গে পরীক্ষার্থীদের স্বার্থ যাতে সুরক্ষিত হয় সে কথা মাথায় রেখে মূল্যায়ন সম্পর্কে একটি সুস্পষ্ট দিক নির্দেশ করা হয়েছিল। সেইমতো এদিন ফলাফল প্রকাশিত হল।
পশ্চিমবঙ্গ উচ্চমাধ্যমিক শিক্ষা সংসদের সভাপতি মহুয়া দাস জানিয়েছেন এরপরেও কোন বিদ্যালয়ের পক্ষ থেকে যদি কোনো বক্তব্য থাকে তা বিবেচনা করার সুযোগ থাকছে নির্দিষ্ট শর্ত মেনে। পাশাপাশি তিনি জানিয়েছেন মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষার ফল প্রকাশিত হয়েছে এবছর সংসদের সভার সিদ্ধান্ত অনুসারে একাদশ শ্রেণিতে বিজ্ঞান নিয়ে ভর্তি হবার ক্ষেত্রে মাধ্যমিক বা সমতল পরীক্ষার সেই বিষয়গুলিতে ন্যূনতম ৪৫ শতাংশ নম্বর পেতে হবে এ বিষয়ে নির্দেশিকা সংসদের ওয়েবসাইটে তুলে দেওয়া হয়েছে।
