টিকার জন্য অর্থ বরাদ্দ পাবে বাংলাদেশ

ডেস্ক রিপোর্ট, ঢাকা: এশীয় উন্নয়ন ব্যাংক–এডিবি তার সদস্য উন্নয়নশীল দেশগুলোর ভ্যাকসিন কেনার সক্ষমতা বাড়ানোর পাশাপাশি দ্রুত পরিবহন ও সংরক্ষণে সহযোগিতা করার উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে। এ খাতে তারা ৯০০ কোটি ডলারের তহবিল যোগান দেবে সংস্থাটি। ১১ ডিসেম্বর শুক্রবার এক বিবৃতিতে ‘এশিয়া প্যাসিফিক ভ্যাকসিন একসেস ফ্যাসিলিটি (এপিভিএএক্স)’ নামে এই তহবিলের ঘোষণা দিয়েছে এডিবি। এপিভিএএক্স এর আওতায় টিকা কেনার পাশাপাশি তা নিজ নিজ দেশে নিয়ে যাওয়ার জন্য অর্থায়ন করা হবে। পাশাপাশি টিকা বিরতণ ও সংরক্ষণ ব্যবস্থার উন্নয়নে বিনিয়োগ করবে। এডিবির প্রেসিডেন্ট মাসাতসুগু আসাকাওয়া জানিয়েছেন, এডিবির সদস্য দেশগুলোর জনগণকে টিকা দেয়ার প্রস্তুতি নেয়া হচ্ছে। তিনি বলছেন, ভ্যাকসিন কেনার জন্য অর্থের পাশাপাশি পুরো টিকাদান প্রক্রিয়া সুষ্ঠুভাবে চালিয়ে নিতে সঠিক পরিকল্পনা ও জ্ঞানের প্রয়োজন হবে। এডিবির বিবৃতিতে বলা হয়, বিশ্ব স্বাস্থ্য সংস্থাসহ অন্যান্য উন্নয়ন সহযোগী সংস্থাগুলোর সঙ্গে সমন্বয় করেই এই অর্থায়ন করবে এডিবি। এর আওতায় এডিবির সদস্য উন্নয়নশীল দেশগুলোতে টিকা উৎপাদনের সক্ষমতা বৃদ্ধিরও সুযোগ ঘটবে। টিকা আমদানির ক্ষেত্রে সদস্য দেশগুলোর যাতে আর্থিক সমস্যায় পড়তে না হয়, সেজন্য ৫০ কোটি ডলার ঋণ হিসেবে দেবে।
