এই প্রথম যাদবপুর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্র সংসদ নির্বাচনে প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বিতা করতে চলেছে এবিভিপি। মঙ্গলবার কলকাতা প্রেসক্লাবে এক সাংবাদিক সম্মেলনে এই ঘোষণা করেন এবিভিপির যাদবপুর ইউনিটের সদস্যরা। সংগঠনের পক্ষে নিখিল দাস বলেন, অখিল ভারতীয় বিদ্যার্থী পরিষদ ছাত্র সংসদ নির্বাচনে কলা বিভাগ ও ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং বিভাগে সমস্ত আসনে পদপ্রার্থী দিয়েছে। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অধিকাংশ ছাত্র ছাত্রী অতি বামপন্থীদের সঙ্গে সক্রিয় রাজনীতিতে নেই বলে দাবি করেন নিখিল দাস। এইসব ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের সমর্থন এবিভিপি পাবে বলে বিশ্বাস তার।
আগামী 19 ফেব্রুয়ারি যাদবপুর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্র সংসদ নির্বাচন। যাদবপুর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সুনাম অক্ষুন্ন রাখার লক্ষ্যে অখিল ভারতীয় বিদ্যার্থী পরিষদ নির্বাচনের প্রতিদ্বন্দিতায় নামার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে বলে এদিন সংগঠনের পক্ষ থেকে জানানো হয়।
