মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের নির্দেশিকায় রাজ্যের 294 টি বিধানসভা কেন্দ্রে NRC এবং CAA বিরোধিতায় বিধায়করা ধরনায় বসে গণ অবস্থান করছেন। আজ বেহালার শখের বাজার মোড়ে গণঅবস্থানে বসেন বেহালা পশ্চিম এর বিধায়ক তথা শিক্ষা মন্ত্রী পার্থ চট্টোপাধ্যায়। কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের NRC এবং CAA আইনের বিরুদ্ধে তিনি সোচ্চার হন,তিনি বলেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় প্রথম দেশে এর বিরোধিতায় পথে নামেন। বাংলা কে ধর্মের নামে বিভাজন করতে মিথ্যা প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়ে অপপ্রচার করছে কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার। রাজ্যপাল মুখ্যমন্ত্রী কে রাজ্যের বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় গুলিকে নিয়ে শিক্ষামন্ত্রীর আলোচনায় বসার চিঠি প্রসঙ্গে বলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী জানিয়েছেন শিক্ষামন্ত্রী পার্থ চট্টোপাধ্যায় রাজ্যের সমস্ত বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় গুলির সমস্ত ইস্যু নিয়ে যা রাজ্যপাল বলছেন, শিক্ষা মন্ত্রী তার বিভাগীয় মতামত জানাবেন।

এরপরেও যদি রাজ্যপালের সঙ্গে আলোচনায় বসতে হয় তবে শিক্ষামন্ত্রী সময়মতো আলোচনায় বসতে পারেন যদি রাজ্যপাল মনে করেন তার আরো কিছু জানার প্রয়োজন আছে।
