এরপর ভক্ত অনুরাগী , সমর্থকদের ঢল, আতসবাজি, পুষ্পবৃষ্টিতে চলল মহারাজ বরন। এই সময় হাজির ছিলেন বোর্ড আধিকারিক থেকে শুরু করে বন্ধু বান্ধব সকলে। এদিন কলকাতায় স্বাগত জানানো হল নতুন বোর্ড প্রেসিডেন্টকে। বহুভক্ত ও ক্রিকেটপ্রেমীরা শুভেচ্ছা জানালেন নতুন বোর্ড প্রেসিডেন্ট সৌরভকে।
শচীন তেন্ডুলকর,থেকে শুরু করে ভিভিএস লক্ষ্মণ ও বীরেন্দ্র সেওয়াগ তাঁকে অভিনন্দন জানিয়েছেন। এদিন মহারাজ জানান – তাঁর প্রথম কাজ হবে দেশের প্রথম শ্রেণির ক্রিকেট এবং ক্রিকেটারদের আর্থিক ভাবে উন্নতি।পাশাপাশি জরুরি অবস্থা কাটিয়ে ভারতীয় বোর্ডের ভাবমূর্তি ফেরানোও তাঁর চ্যালেঞ্জ বলে মনে করেন মহারাজ।
