মিজান রহমান, ঢাকা: সরকারের প্রতিটি গ্রামে একটি করে প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয় সরকারিভাবে নির্মাণ করার পরিকল্পনা রয়েছে বলে সংসদকে জানিয়েছেন প্রাথমিক ও গণশিক্ষা মন্ত্রী মো. জাকির হোসেন। ৮ সেপ্টেম্বর রোববার সংসদে লক্ষ্মীপুর-৩ আসনের একেএম শাহাজাহান কামালের মৌখিক প্রশ্নের জবাবে মন্ত্রী এ কথা বলেন। জাতীয় সংসদের স্পিকার ড. শিরীন শারমিন চৌধুরীর সভাপতিত্বে অধিবেশনের শুরুতেই প্রশ্নোত্তর টেবিলে উত্থাপিত হয়। মন্ত্রী বলেন, বর্তমান সরকার শিক্ষার মান উন্নয়নে ব্যাপক পদক্ষেপ করেছে এবং নতুন নতুন কর্মসূচি গ্রহণ করেছে। এর অংশ হিসেবে প্রতিটি গ্রামে একটি করে প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয় সরকারিভাবে নির্মাণ করার পরিকল্পনা সরকারের রয়েছে।
তিনি বলেন, ইতোমধ্যে ১ হাজার ৫০০ বিদ্যালয় স্থাপন প্রকল্পের আওতায় বিদ্যালয়হীন গ্রামে প্রয়োজনীয়তার ভিত্তিতে এ প্রকল্পের আওতায় সারাদেশে ১ হাজার ৪৯৫টি সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয় স্থাপন করা হয়েছে। প্রকল্পটি শেষ হওয়ায় এর আওতায় নতুন কোনো সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয় স্থাপনের সুযোগ এ পর্যায়ে নেই। ভবিষ্যতে এ জাতীয় প্রকল্প চালু হলে নীতিমালার আলোকে ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করা হবে। তবে বিদ্যালয়হীন গ্রামে সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয় স্থাপনের জন্য সরকারের পরিকল্পনা বিবেচনাধীন রয়েছে। এ বিষয়ে কার্যক্রম চলমান রয়েছে বলেও জানান তিনি।
