এবার ঢাকায় ডেঙ্গি প্রতিরোধে ৫০ হাজার পুলিশকর্মী নিয়গ। রাজারবাগ পুলিশ লাইনসটি অবস্থিত রাজধানী শহর ঢাকার একেবারে কেন্দ্রে। ঢাকা দক্ষিণ পুরসভা এই এলাকার অনেক স্থানে এডিস মশার লার্ভা পেয়েছে। আর ঢাকা মেট্রোপলিটান পুলিশের সকল ইউনিট থেকে ৫০ হাজার পুলিশকর্মী মিলে ওই এডিস মশার লার্ভা ও ডেঙ্গির উৎপত্তিস্থল ধ্বংস করতে অংশ নিয়েছে। ঢাকা মেট্রোপলিটন পুলিশ কমিশনার আছাদুজ্জামান শনিবার পরিষ্কার-পরিচ্ছন্নতা অভিযানে বললেন, সরকার পক্ষ ও স্বাস্থ্য বিভাগের পক্ষে এই এডিস মশা নিয়ন্ত্রণ করা সম্ভাব নয়।
তাই তিনি শহরবাসীর উদ্দশ্যে বলেন নিজের বাড়ির আঙিনা এবং আশপাশেও পরিষ্কার করতে হবে। এছাড়া আরও বললেন, যতক্ষন না পর্যন্ত ডেঙ্গি প্রকোপ শেষ হচ্ছে সেই সময় পর্যন্ত আমাদের পরিচ্ছন্নতা অভিযান চলাতে হবে। আরও নির্দেশ দেওয়া হয়েছে এডিস মশার লার্ভা ধ্বংসের জন্য পুলিশের সব ইউনিটকে একযোগে পরিচ্ছন্নতার কাজে অংশ নিতে হবে।
