তিন বাহিনি সেনাদের জন্য সরঞ্জাম কিনতে টাকার অভাব হবে না, জানালেন রাজনাথ সিং।তিনি জানালেন যে দেশের সুরক্ষার সঙ্গে কোনও ভাবেই আপোষ করা হবে না,সেই জন্য প্রতিরক্ষা মন্ত্রী রাজনাথ সিং বাজেটে প্রতিরক্ষা খাতে সব সময়ই অতিরিক্ত গুরুত্ব দেওয়ার কথা বল্লেন।তিনি আশ্বাস করছেন যে সেনাবাহিনীর জন্য সামরিক সরঞ্জাম কেনার জন্য টাকার অভাবে আটকে থাকবে না।প্রতিরক্ষা খাতে যে বাজেট বরাদ্দ হয়, তার পুরোপুরি ব্যবহার করা হয় না।আজ রাজ্যসভায় ওঠা এই অভিযোগের উত্তরে রাজনাথ সিং বলেন যে এনডিএ সরকারের আমলে প্রতিরক্ষা মন্ত্রক তাদের জন্য বরাদ্দ বাজেটে সম্পূর্ণ ভাবে ব্যবহার করেছে। প্রতিরক্ষা বাজেট ১০০%-র বেশি খরচ হয়েছে বলে জানিয়েছেন রাজনাথ সিং।
সেনার জন্য অস্ত্রশস্ত্র কেনায় পদ্ধতিগত দেরিও যাতে না হয়, সেদিকেও কড়া নজর রাখা হয় বলে জানিয়েছেন প্রতিরক্ষা মন্ত্রী।রাজনাথ সিং আরও জানিয়েছেন যে সেনা, নৌবাহিনী ও বিমান বাহিনী এই তিন বাহিনীর কাছে প্রয়োজনীয় ফান্ড পাঠিয়ে দেওয়া হয়েছে। কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের মোট ক্যাপিটাল এক্সপেন্ডিচারের এক তৃতীয়াংশই খরচ হয় প্রতিরক্ষা খাতে।
