নিজস্ব প্রতিবেদন ; এদিন ট্রেন্ট ব্রিজে মুখোমুখি হয়েছিল অস্ট্রেলিয়া বনাম ওয়েস্ট ইন্ডিজ। শুরুতেই ক্যারিবিয়ান বোলারদের দাপটে একের পর এক উইকেট হারিয়ে চাপে পরে যায় তারা। ১৭ ওভারের মধ্যেই গুরুত্বপুর্ন ৫টি উইকেট হারায় অজিরা। অস্ট্রেলিয়ার হাল ধরলেন স্টিভ স্মিথ ও অ্যালেক্স ক্যারি। স্টিভ স্মিথ ৭৩ ও নাথান কুল্টার নাইল ৯২ রান করে আউট হন।তাদের চওড়া ব্যাটে ভর করে সুবিধাজনক অবস্থায় পৌঁছায় অস্ট্রেলিয়া। ২৮৮ রানে শেষ হয় অস্ট্রেলিয়ার ইনিংস। ওয়েস্ট ইন্ডিজের হয়ে দুটো করে উইকেট নেন ওশানে থমাস, শেলডন কটরেল, আন্দ্রে রাসেল, কালোর্স ব্রেথওয়েট। একটি  উইকেট নেন জেসন হোল্ডার।

জবাবে ব্যাট করতে নামে ক্যারিবিয়ানরা। এদিন দুর্দান্ত শুরু করলেও ।পরপর গুরুত্বপুর্ন উইকেট হারিয়ে চাপে পরে যায় ওয়েস্ট ইন্ডিজ। শিমরন হেটমেয়ার ও জেসন হোল্ডার  এদিন কিছুটা হাল ধরার চেস্টা করেন। এই দুই তারকা ক্রিকেটার ফিরে যেতে তাসের ঘরের মত ভেঙ্গে পরে ক্যারিবিয়ান ইনিংস। অস্ট্রেলিয়ার তরফে পাঁচ উইকেট নেন স্টার্ক।   শেষ পর্যন্ত নয় উইকেট হারিয়ে ২৭৩ রানেই থেমে যায়  ওয়েস্ট ইন্ডিজ ।
