পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর: সাত সকালে যান্ত্রিক ত্রুটির কারণে দুর্ঘটনার কবলে পড়ল এক যাত্রীবাহী বাস। ঘটনাটি ঘটেছে বেলদা থানার অন্তর্গত ঠাকুরচোক থেকে খাকুরদা গামী রাজ্য সড়কের বিবেকানন্দ মোড়ে।ঘটনায় জানা যায় গোপীবল্লবপুর দীঘা যাত্রীবোঝাই বাসটি বেলদা থেকে খাকুরদা দিকে আসার সময় ঠাকুরচক ও খাকুড়দার মাঝে যান্ত্রিক ত্রুটির কারণে বাসের স্টিয়ারিং জ্যাম হয়ে যায়, ফলে চালক বাসের নিয়ন্ত্রণ হারিয়ে ফেলে রাস্তার কাছে গাছে গিয়ে ধাক্কা মারে।
এতে ১৫ থেকে ২০ জন যাত্রী আহত হন। স্থানীয়রা তাদের উদ্ধার করে বেলদা গ্রামীণ হসপিটালে গ্রামীণ হসপিটালে ভর্তি করে। এদের মধ্যে কয়েকজনের অবস্থা অবনতি হওয়ায় মেদিনীপুর মেডিক্যাল কলেজে স্থানান্তরিত করা হয়। সাত সকালে দুর্ঘটনা ঘটায় কোন যানজটের সৃষ্টি হয়নি । দুর্ঘটনার পরে চালক পালিয়ে যাওয়ায় বাসটিকে আটক করেছে পুলিশ।
