পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর: দুদিনের ভারী বর্ষণে রাজ্য সড়কে ধস নামায় মেদিনীপুর- ঝাড়গ্রাম ভায়া ধেড়ুয়া রুটে যানবাহন চলাচল সম্পূর্ণভাবে বন্ধ হয়ে গেছে। ফলে বিচ্ছিন্ন হয়ে পড়েছে দুই জেলার যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থা। এর ফলে নিত্যযাত্রীদের প্রায় পঞ্চাশ কিলোমিটার ঘুর পথে যাতায়াত করতে হচ্ছে। মঙ্গলবার রাতের ভারী বর্ষণে ধেড়ুয়ার কাছে চাতরকলায় রাজ্য সড়কে বড় রকমের ধ্বস নেমেছে। লাগাতার বর্ষণের জলে রাজ্য সড়কের দু’পাশের মাটি ধুয়ে যাওয়ার ফলে রাস্তাটি বিপদজনক ভাবে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়েছে।
এর ফলে মেদিনীপুর- ঝাড়গ্রামের মধ্যে বাস ও অন্যান্য যানবাহন চলাচল বন্ধ হয়ে যাওয়ায় নিত্য যাত্রীরা চরম সমস্যায় পড়েছেন। নিত্যযাত্রীদের বাধ্য হয়ে ঘুরপথে ঝাড়গ্রাম থেকে লোধাশুলি ও কলাইকুন্ডা হয়ে মেদিনীপুরে যেতে হচ্ছে। একইভাবে তাদের মেদিনীপুর থেকে কলাইকুন্ডা ও লোধাশুলি হয়ে ঝাড়গ্রামে আসতে হচ্ছে। রাস্তাটি জরুরী ভিত্তিতে সারাইয়ের উদ্যোগ নেওয়া হয়েছে বলে পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর জেলা প্রশাসন সূত্রে জানানো হয়েছে।
