প্রাপ্তন শ্রীলঙ্কার অধিনায়ক সনৎ জয়সূর্যকে দু বছরের জন্য সাসপেন্ড করল আইসিসির দুর্নীতি দমন শাখা। তিনি এই দু বছরে আর ক্রিকেটের কোন কার্যকলাপে জড়িত থাকতে পারবেন না। গত বছর তাঁর ফোন কে তিনি আইসিসি দুর্নীতি দমন শাখার হাতে তুলে দিতে অস্বীকার করেন। সেই কারনে তাঁর উপর আইসিসির তরফ থেকে দুটো অভিযোগ রুজু করা হয়েছে।
এসিইউর দ্বারা সম্পন্ন করা কোন তদন্তকে সাহায্য না করা এবং জয়সূর্যের কাছে চাওয়া কোন তথ্য দিয়ে সাহায্য না করতে পারার জন্য তাঁর উপর আইসিসির ২,৪,৬ ধারা ন্যাস্ত হয়। এসিইউ র তদন্তকে বাধা দেওয়া বা তদন্তে অসহযোগিতা করার কারনে তাঁর উপর ২,৪ এবং ৭ ধারা আরোপিত করা হয়। যদিও জয়সূর্য্য অভিযুক্ত হওয়ার পর একটি বিবৃতি দিয়ে জানান যে তিনি ‘ম্যাচ ফিক্সিং’ বা ‘পিচ ফিক্সিং’ কোনটির সঙ্গেই তিনি জড়িত ছিলেন না। কিন্তু তিনি আইসিসির দেওয়া এই শাস্তি তিনি মেনে নেন।
