পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর: বুধবার সকালে ৬০ নং জাতীয় সড়কে দুর্ঘটনার কবলে পড়ল একটি যাত্রী বোঝায় বাস। ঘটনার জেরে আহত প্রায় ৪০ জন যাত্রী। আহতদের উদ্ধার করে চিকিৎসার জন্য ভর্তি করা হয়েছে মেদিনীপুর মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে। ঘটনাটি ঘটেছে পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর জেলার মেদিনীপুর শহর সংলগ্ন গিরিধারি চক এলাকায়।
স্থানীয় সুত্রে জানা গিয়েছে, খড়্গপুরের দিক থেকে অঙ্কিত নামের একটি বাস যাত্রী নিয়ে আসছিল কেরানীচটির দিকে ৬০ নং জাতীয় সড়কের উপর দিয়ে। সেই সময় উলটো দিক থেকে একটি লরির সঙ্গে মুখোমুখি সংঘর্ষ হয় বাসটির। প্রত্যহ্মদর্শীদের মতে লরিটির সামনের চাকা বাস্ট করলে নিয়ন্ত্রন হারিয়ে বাসটিকে ধাক্কা মারে। ঘটনার জেরে বাসটি রাস্তার পাশে উলটে যায়। ঘটনায় আহত ৪০ যাত্রীকে উদ্ধার করে মেদিনীপুর মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে পাঠায় স্থানীয়রা।
