হাওড়া: হাওড়া জেলা জুড়ে ঐতিহ্যবাহী আমতা থানার দামোদর নদীর উত্তর তীরে অবস্থিত রসপুর হাইস্কুল ফুটবল মাঠে সপ্তাহব্যাপী দামোদর মেলা শুরু হল। ৭ থেকে ১৩ ডিসেম্বর পর্যন্ত মেলা ও সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠান চলবে। দীর্ঘ ২৭ বছরের ঐতিহ্যবাহী এই মেলা। মেলার উদ্বোধন করেন মন্ত্রী জাভেদ আহমেদ খাঁন। উপস্থিত ছিলেন আমতা-১ নং বিডিও লোকনাথ সরকার, বর্ধমান মেডিক্যাল কলেজের সিনিয়র সুপার সুরাজ দে ও আরও অন্যান্য বিশিষ্ট নেতৃত্ব বৃন্দরা।আমতা, উলুবেড়িয়া, জয়পুর, উদয়নারায়নপুর ছাড়িয়ে এই মেলা আজ সার্বজনীন।
প্রত্যেক বারেই ভিন্ন ভিন্ন থিমের ভাবনা পরিচালকদের বৌদ্ধিক উৎকর্ষতার প্রমান দেয়। মেলার প্রতিষ্ঠাতা তপন মন্ডল ও মুস্তাক আলি জানান আমাদের এ বছরের মেলার থিম আমার গ্রাম, আমার বিদ্যালয়। অর্থাৎ উলুবেড়িয়া মহকুমা জুড়ে যে সমস্ত বিদ্যালয় শতবর্ষ অতিক্রান্ত করেছে সেই সমস্ত বিদ্যালয়ের ইতিহাস তুলে ধরেছি। সাত দিনব্যাপী বিভিন্ন ধরনের বিশিষ্ট শিক্ষাবিদ সমাজকর্মী জনপ্রতিনিধি গণ্যমান্য ব্যক্তিবর্গ কর্মকর্তারা উপস্থিত থাকবেন মেলার অনুষ্ঠানে। ঐক্যের বার্তাবাহী এই মিলন মেলার নির্যাসটুকু নিগড়ে নিতে আগ্রহী আবাল বৃদ্ধবনিতা প্রত্যেকেই। বিঞ্জান সংস্কৃতি একত্র সহবস্থান এ মেলায়।
