উত্তর দিনাজপুরে জেলার ইসলামপুর থানার পুলিশ বৈধ কাগজ পত্র না থাকায় বিভিন্ন বীজ ও শস্য বাজেয়াপ্ত করলো। শনিবার দুপুরে ইসলামপুর কোট ময়দান থেকে একুশ বস্তা জৈব সার বেশ কিছু মুসুর ডাল, চার বস্তা ভুট্টা বীজ, বারো কেজি শসা বীজ আটক করল ইসলামপুর থানার পুলিশ। পুলিশ সূত্রে জানা যায়, বেসরকারি একটি সংস্থা এই বীজগুলো বিতরন করেছিল। বিতরণকারী সংস্থা বৈধ কাগজপত্র দেখাতে পারেনি তাই এই মালগুলো আটক করা হয়েছে।
স্থানীয় সূত্রে জানা যায়, একটি গাড়ি থেকে এই মালগুলো নামিয়ে ফোন করে কৃষকদের জানিয়ে এই মালগুলো বিতরণ করা হচ্ছিল। ইসলামপুর থানায় পুলিশ খবর পেয়ে বৈধ কাগজ দেখতে চাইলে দেখাতে পারেনি ওই সংস্থা। মালগুলো আটক করে ইসলামপুর থানায় নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়েছে। বীজ বন্টনের দায়িত্বে থাকা স্বেচ্ছাসেবী সংস্থার কর্ণধার জাভেদ আলম জানান, প্রতি বছর বীজ বন্টন করেন তারা। বিনা অন্যায় এ পুলিশ তাদের উঠিয়ে নিয়ে যায়।
