নবগ্রামঃ শুক্রবার সকালে নবগ্রাম থানার শিবপুর টোলপ্লাজার টোলগেট থেকে ১৬৫ কেজি গাঁজা সহ এক জনকে গ্রেফতার করে নবগ্রাম থানার পুলিস। শুক্রবার সকাল সাড়ে ১১টা নাগাদ নবগ্রাম থানার ওসি সুব্রত সিকদারের নেতৃত্বে নবগ্রাম থানার পুলিস টোলপ্লাজায় একটি পিকআপ ভ্যানে তল্লাশি চালিয়ে ১৬৫ কেজি গাঁজা উদ্ধার করে এবং গাড়ির চালক ফিরোজ সেখকে গ্রেফতার করে। ধৃতের বাড়ি মুর্শিদাবাদের ইসলামপুর থানার গোসাইগ্রামে। গাঁজা নিয়ে পিকআপ ভ্যানটি শিলিগুড়ি থেকে ইসলামপুরের দিকে যাচ্ছিল।
পুলিস সূত্রে খবর, গাঁজা নিয়ে পিকআপ ভ্যানটি শিলিগুড়ি থেকে আসছিল। সোর্স মারফত খবর পেয়ে নবগ্রাম থানার ওসির নেতৃত্বে পুলিসের একটি দল সকাল থেকে টোলপ্লাজা থেকে কিছুটা দূরে পুলিস ভ্যান রেখে গাড়িগুলিতে তল্লাশি চালাচ্ছিল। সকাল সাড়ে ১১ টা নাগাদ শিবপুর টোল প্লাজার কাছে পিকআপ ভ্যানটি আসতেই পুলিস ভ্যানটিতে তল্লাশি চালিয়ে ১৬৫ কেজি গাঁজা উদ্ধার করে। ওসি সুব্রত সিকদার বলেন, বৃহস্পতিবার রাতে সোর্স মারফত খবর পাই শুক্রবার সকালে ৩৪নং নম্বর জাতীয় সড়কের উপর দিয়ে গাঁজা পাচার হবে। খবর মোতাবেক শুক্রবার সকাল থেকেই নাকা চেকিং চালানো হচ্ছিল। নাকা চেকিং এর সময় পিকআপ ভ্যানটিতে তল্লাশি চালাতে গিয়েই গাঁজা উদ্ধার হয়। শনিবার ধৃতকে আদালতে তোলা হবে বলে পুলিস সূত্রে খবর।
