পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর : উত্তর দিনাজপুর জেলার দাঁড়িভিটা হাইস্কুলে উর্দু শিক্ষক নিয়োগকে কেন্দ্র করে ছাত্রসহ গ্রামবাসীদের বিক্ষোভ দমনে পুলিশি হামলা হয় । এই বিক্ষোভে পুলিশ বর্বর ভাবে লাঠিচার্জ করে এবং গুলি চালায়। ফলস্বরূপ আই.টি.আই ছাত্র রাজেশ সরকারের ঘটনাস্থলে মৃত্যু ঘটে এবং কয়েকজন ছাত্রকে আশংকাজনক অবস্থায় হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করা হয় , যার মধ্যে আর একজন ছাত্রের আজ মৃত্যু ঘটে। এই মৃত্যুতে আমরা গভীরভাবে শোকাহত। এই বর্বর আক্রমণে সারা রাজ্য জুড়ে কালাদিবস পালিত হয় । পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর জেলার মেদিনীপুর শহর, বেলদা, খড়গপুর সহ জেলার বিভিন্ন এলাকায় মিছিল সহ পথসভা করে কালাদিবস পালিত হয় । মেদিনীপুর শহরের রবীন্দ্রমূর্তির পাদদেশ থেকে ডি.এম অফিস পর্যন্ত একটি মিছিল সংগঠিত হয় ।
মিছিলে নেতৃত্ব দেন জেলা সভাপতি কমরেড বিশ্বরঞ্জন গিরি এবং সহসভাপতি কমরেড সিদ্ধার্থশংকর ঘাঁটা। জেলা সম্পাদক ব্রতীন দাস বলেন – রাজ্য সরকার গতকাল একটি কালো দিন সংগঠিত করল , একদিকে গরিব মেহনতি মানুষের কথা বলছেন, অপরদিকে ছাত্র আন্দোলনের ওপর গুলি চালিয়ে তাদের হত্যা করছে , এটা দ্বিচারিতা । এর বিরুদ্ধে আগামী দিনে জনমত গঠন করে তীব্র ছাত্র আন্দোলন গড়ে তোলার আহ্বান করেছেন। তিনি দোষী পুলিশ অফিসারের শাস্তির দাবি করেন ।
