আজ দানবীর মহম্মদ মহসিনের জন্মদিন। হুগলি জেলায় তার অবদান অপরিসীম ইমাম বারা সদর হাসপাতাল থেকে স্কুল কলেজ সব কিছুই রয়েছে তার অবদান। ১৮১৭ সালে তিনি সংখ্যালঘু ভাইদের কথা ভেবে তৈরি করেছিলেন হুগলি মাদ্রাসা।একটা সময় চলতো রমরম করে কিন্তু বেশ কয়েক বছর ধরে এটি ধুঁকতে শুরু করে।শিক্ষক থাকলেও ছাত্রের সংখ্যা কমতে থাকে,সংখ্যালঘু ছাত্র দের দাবি দাবা নিয়ে নানা আন্দোলন ও হয়েছে।
আজ সেই মহসিনের জন্মদিনে এক উন্নতর মাদ্রাসায় রূপান্তরিত করতে চলেছে বর্তমান সরকার।সর্ব রকম সুবিধা যুক্ত ব্যবস্থা করা হয়েছে এই মাদ্রাসাতে সংখ্যালঘু ভাইয়াদের জন্য।অনলাইন ব্যবস্থা থেকে কিয়স্ক এবং কারিগরি শিক্ষা ব্যবস্থা করা হচ্ছে এখানে।আর তারাই সূচনা করতে এলেন দুই মন্ত্রী অরূপ বিশ্বাস,ও সিদিকুল্লা চৌধুরী।
এছাড়াও জেলার নেতা মন্ত্রী তপন দাসগুপ্ত, অসিমা পাত্র, জেলাশাসক জগদীশ প্রসাদ মিনা, পুলিশ কমিশনার অজয় কুমার, হুগলী পুলিশ সুপার(গ্রামীন) সুকেশ জৈন, বিধায়ক অসিত মজুমদার জেলা পরিষদের সভাধিপতি মেহবুব রহমান চুঁচুড়া পুরসভার চেয়ারম্যান গৌরিকান্ত মুখার্জি সহ জেলার তৃণমূল বিধায়করা উপস্থিত ছিলেন। মন্ত্রী অরূপ বিশ্বাস বলেন এই মাদ্রাসায় দ্বাদশ শ্রেনী পর্যন্ত বাংলা ও ইংরেজি মাধ্যম চালু হবে। নতুন করে ভবনের উন্নয়ন করা হবে। পাশাপাশি স্কিল ডেভলপমেন্ট আজ থেকে চালু হলো। এছাড়া এদিন মন্ত্রী অরুপ বিশ্বাস বাম আমলের সাথে তৃণমূল জমানার সাথে সংখ্যালঘুদের উন্নয়নের তুলনা করেন।
