নিখোঁজ প্রিসাইডিং অফিসার রাজকুমার রায়ের ভোট নিতে গিয়ে রহস্যজনক ভাবে মৃত্যুর ঘটনায় বিচার চেয়ে অন্যান্য ভোটকর্মীদের রায়গঞ্জ ঘড়ি মোড় এলাকায় পথ অবরোধ । ঘটনায় চাঞ্চল্য ছড়াল উত্তর দিনাজপুর জেলার রায়গঞ্জে।
মঙ্গলবার রাতে রায়গঞ্জের সোনাডাঙি এলাকায় রেললাইনের ধারে ক্ষতবিক্ষত মৃতদেহ উদ্ধার হলে জানা যায় ওই মৃতদেহটি রায়গঞ্জ শহরের বাসিন্দা রহটপুর হাই মাদ্রাসার শিক্ষক রাজকুমার রায়ের, যিনি ইটাহারে প্রিসাইডিং অফিসার হিসেবে ভোটগ্রহন করার কাজে গিয়ে আর বাড়ি ফিরে আসেননি তার। রাতেই তার পরিবারের লোকজন রায়গঞ্জ জেলা হাসপাতালে গিয়ে মৃতদেহ সনাক্ত করেন। এই ঘটনায় ব্যাপক চাঞ্চল্য ছড়িয়েছে উত্তর দিনাজপুরে।
গত ১৪ মে পঞ্চায়েত নির্বাচনের ভোটগ্রহন করতে ইটাহার ব্লকের সোনাপুর প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ে ৪৮ নম্বর বুথের প্রিসাইডিং অফিসার হিসেবে যোগ দেন রায়গঞ্জ শহরের সুদর্শনপুর এলাকার বাসিন্দা করনদিঘীর রহটপুর হাই মাদ্রাসার ইংরেজিরর শিক্ষক রাজকুমার রায়। ভোটগ্রহনের দিন রাত আটটা থেকেই তার আর কোনও খোঁজ মেলেনি। নিখোঁজ ওই প্রিসাইডিং অফিসারের ক্ষতবিক্ষত মৃতদেহ মিলল রায়গঞ্জের সোনাডাঙি এলাকার রেললাইনের ধারে।
