সুস্মিতা সরকার: বিতর্ক কোনো দিনই তার পিছন ছাড়েনি। তিনি যা করেন,যা বলেন তাই নিয়ে বিভিন্ন স্তরে বিভিন্ন সময়ে জল্পনা-কল্পনার কোন অবসান নেই। তবে প্রতি বারের ন্যায় এবারেও বিভিন্ন বিতর্কের নাকপাশ ছিন্ন করে অবশেষে ডি.লিট সম্মান ভূষিত হলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। বৃহস্পতিবার সাহিত্য, সংস্কৃতি, সামাজিক অবদান ও বাংলাকে বিশ্বের দরবারে নতুন ভাবে উপস্থাপন করার জন্য তাকে ডি.লিট সম্মান দিল কলকাতা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়।
এদিন নজরুল মঞ্চে সম্মান গ্ৰহনের পর আবেগযমথিত মমতা বললেন, “আমি খুব সাধারণ। আমার জীবন অবহেলার, অসম্মানের, সংগ্ৰামের। সারা জীবন লড়াই করেছি। এই সম্মান দেওয়ার প্রস্তাব নিয়েও আমাকে কম অসম্মান করা হয়নি।” সাম্মানিক পত্র হাতে নিয়ে অত্যন্ত আপ্লুত হয়ে তিনি বলেন ” আপনারা আমার জীবন পূর্ণ করে দিয়েছেন। আজকের দিনটি জীবনের মণিকোঠায় উজ্জ্বল হয়ে থাকবে। এর থেকে বড় সম্মান আর কিছু চাই না।” এই সম্মান তার কর্মোদ্যম কে আরও প্রেরণা জোগাবে বলে তাঁর দৃঢ় বিশ্বাস। এমন খুশির মুহুর্তে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়কে গবেষণা খাতে ১০০কোটি টাকা দেওয়ার ঘোষণা করেন মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী ।
