পরিতোষ বর্মণঃ বালুরঘাট পৌরসভা পরিচালনায় অস্বচ্ছতা, পৌর আইন লঙ্ঘন, স্বজন পোষণ ও পৌর নাগরিকদের গণতান্ত্রিক অধিকার থেকে বঞ্চিত করবার প্রতিবাদে আজ বালুরঘাট পৌরসভার সামনে অবস্থান ও বিক্ষোভ সমাবেশ কর্মসূচী পালন করলো বামফ্রন্ট। দুপুর দুটো থেকে বিকেল চারটে পর্যন্ত এই অবস্থান ও বিক্ষোভ সমাবেশ কর্মসূচী পালন করে তারা। এদিনের বিক্ষোভ কর্মসূচীতে হাজির ছিলেন বামফ্রন্টের প্রাক্তন মন্ত্রী নারায়ণ বিশ্বাস, পৌরসভার বিরোধী দলনেত্রী সুচেতা বিশ্বাস, বালুরঘাট পৌরসভার বাম কাউন্সিলার, বাম নেতা বিমলেন্দু সরকার সহ জেলার অন্যান্য নেতৃত্ব।
বিগত ৪ই জানুয়ারী বালুরঘাট নাট্যমন্দিরে বামফ্রন্টের নাগরিক কনভেশনে বিরোধী দলনেত্রী জানিয়েছিলেন সুষ্ঠ ভাবে পৌরসভা পরিচালন ও অবিলম্বে বালুরঘাট পৌরসভায় স্থায়ী চেয়ারম্যান নিযুক্ত করা না হলে বৃহত্তর আন্দোলনে নামবে তারা। বালুরঘাট পৌরসভায় এখন পর্যন্ত কোন চেয়ারম্যান নিযুক্ত না করায় শহরের প্রায় দেড় লক্ষ মানুষ উন্নয়ন থেকে বঞ্চিত হচ্ছে এমন অভিযোগ তোলেন পৌরসভার প্রাক্তন বাম চেয়ারম্যান সুচেতা বিশ্বাস। তাই পূর্বের ঘোষনা মত আজকের এই অবস্থান ও বিক্ষোভ সমাবেশ কর্মসূচী বলে সুচেতা বিশ্বাস জানান।
