খবরইন্ডিয়াঅনলাইনঃ উইকেটরক্ষক ব্যাটসম্যান রেমন্ড ফন শুর ক্রিকেট ম্যাচ চলাকালীন ব্রেইন স্ট্রোকে আক্রান্ত হয়ে হাসপাতালে ভর্তি হওয়ার পাঁচদিন পর মৃত্যুবরণ করেন।
দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকার সিএসএ প্রভিন্সিয়াল ওয়ানডে চ্যালেঞ্জ আসরে নামিবিয়ার হয়ে ১৫ রানে ব্যাট করার সময় ব্রেইন স্ট্রোকে আক্রান্ত হয়ে মাঠ ছাড়েন রেনমন্ড ফন শুর। এরপর তাকে অ্যাম্বুলেন্সে করে সরাসরি স্থানীয় হাসপাতালে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়।
ব্রেইন স্ট্রোকে আক্রান্ত হওয়ার পর থেকেই হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসাধীন ছিলেন ফন শুর। তবে কখনো সুস্থ হয়ে উঠেননি তিনি। নামিবিয়ার সময় শুক্রবার রাতে পরপারে পাড়ি জমান এই উইকেটরক্ষক ব্যাটসম্যান।
ক্রিকেট নামিবিয়া সভাপতি রিচার্ড ফ্রাঙ্কেল উইকেটরক্ষক ব্যাটনম্যান রেমন্ড ফন শুর’র অকাল মৃত্যুতে গভীর শোক প্রকাশ করেছেন।
এক শোকবার্তায় তিনি বলেন, ‘রেমন্ড ক্রিকেট নামিবিয়া এবং জাতীয় দলের অসাধারণ সম্পদ ছিলো। খুব কম বয়সেই সে আমাদের ছেড়ে চলে গেলো। আমরা তার বিদেহী আত্মার শান্তি কামনা করছি।’
২৫ বছর বয়সী রেমন্ড ফন শুর ৩৫তম ওভারের সময় ক্রিজে আসেন। নামিবিয়া তখন রান তাড়া করছে। ১৬ বলে ১৫ রান করেন তিনি। ৪৩তম ওভারে ৫ উইকেটে ২২৫ রানের সময় ব্রেন স্ট্রোকে আক্রান্ত হয়ে মাঠ ছাড়ার পর সরাসরি হাসপাতালে ভর্তি হন তিনি।
