প্রতিদিন শরণার্থী বাড়ছে ইউরোপে

খবরইন্ডিয়াঅনলাইনঃ    জাতিসংঘের শরণার্থী বিষয়ক আঞ্চলিক সমন্বয়ক আমিন আওয়াদ বার্তা সংস্থা রয়টার্সকে জানিয়েছেন, প্রতিদিন প্রায় আট হাজার সিরীয় ও ইরাকি শরণার্থী ইউরোপে ঢুকছে এবং এ ধারা অব্যাহত থাকবে বলেও আশঙ্কা প্রকাশ করেছে জাতিসংঘ।

প্রতিদিন পাঁচ হাজারের বেশি শরণার্থী গ্রিসে পৌঁছাচ্ছে। আবহাওয়া অনুকূলে থাকলে এবং সীমান্ত খোলা থাকলে শীত মৌসুমেও শরণার্থীদের এ ঢল অব্যাহত থাকবে বলে বিবিসি’কে জানিয়েছে আন্তর্জাতিক অভিবাসী সংগঠন(আইওএম)। এবছর এরই মধ্যে মধ্যপ্রাচ্য, বিশেষ করে, সিরিয়া ও আফ্রিকা থেকে প্রায় পাঁচ লাখ শরণার্থী ইউরোপে প্রবেশ করেছে। বছরের বাকি সময়ে ইরাকের এক কোটি নাগরিকের মানবিক সাহায্যের প্রয়োজন হবে বলেও মনে করছে জাতিসংঘ।

ইউরোপমুখী শরণার্থীর এ ঢল সামলাতে হিমশিম খেতে হচ্ছে ইউরোপীয় ইউনিয়নকে(ইইউ)। এ সপ্তাহে ইইউ’র মন্ত্রিসভায় কোটা পদ্ধতিতে এক লাখ ২০ হাজার শরণার্থীকে ভাগ করে আশ্রয় দেয়ার প্রস্তাব পাশ হয়। যদিও এই কোটার তীব্র বিরোধিতা করেছে রুমানিয়া, চেক প্রজাতন্ত্র, স্লোভাকিয়াসহ ইউরোপের কয়েকটি দেশ।

শরণার্থীর স্রোত সামাল দেয়া নিয়ে দুই প্রতিবেশী দেশ সার্বিয়া ও ক্রোয়েশিয়ার সম্পর্কে অবনতি হয়েছে। হাঙ্গেরি সীমান্তে নতুন করে কাঁটাতারের বেড়া নির্মাণ করেছে।
