খবরইন্ডিয়াঅনলাইনঃ মিশনারিজ অফ চ্যারিটির প্রাক্তন প্রধান সিস্টার নির্মলার জীবনাবসান। বয়স হয়েছিল ৮১ বছর। ১৯৯৭ সালে মাদার টেরেজার মৃত্যুর পর মিশনারিজ অফ চ্যারিটিজের প্রধান হন তিনি। ১৯৪৩-এ রাঁচিতে জন্ম হয় তাঁর। ১৭ বছর বয়সে মিসনারিজ অফ চ্যারিটিতে যোগ দেন তিনি। মাদার টেরেসার উত্সাহেই তিনি আইন নিয়ে পড়াশোনা করেন। মাদারের বিদেশ সফরে নিয়মিত সঙ্গী হতেন সিস্টার নির্মলা। ১৯৯৭-এ সুপিরিয়র জেনারেলের দায়িত্ব নেন তিনি। মাদার টেরেসার একেবারে প্রথম জীবনে, যখন তিনি লোরেটো সেন্ট মেরিজের শিক্ষক, তখন তাঁর ছাত্রী ছিলেন সিস্টার নির্মলা। মিশনারিজ অফ চ্যারিটি তৈরি হওয়ার সময় যে দুজন মাদার টেরেসার সঙ্গে সন্ন্যাসীনি হন তাঁদের মধ্যে অন্যতম ছিলেন সিস্টার নির্মলা। সন্ন্যাসীনি হওয়ার পর মাদার টেরেসার সঙ্গে দুঃস্থের সেবায় নিজেকে নিয়োজিত করেন তিনি। মাদারের জীবত্কালে তাঁকে অনেকবার দায়িত্ব নেওয়ার জন্য অনুরোধ করা হলেও তিনি রাজি হননি। মাদারের মৃত্যুর পর তিনি সুপিরিয়র জেনারেল হিসাবে দায়িত্বভার গ্রহণ করেন।২০০৯ সালে তাকে পদ্মভূষণ সম্মানে ভূষিত করে ভারত সরকার। তার মৃত্যুতে টুইটারে শোকপ্রকাশ করেছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়, প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদীও।
