বিকাশ সাহাঃ বৃহস্পতিবার পথ দুর্ঘটনায় এক ব্যক্তির মৃত্যুকে কেন্দ্র করে উত্তাল হয়ে উঠলো উত্তর দিনাজপুর জেলার ইসলামপুর। দুর্ঘটনাটি ঘটেছে ইসলামপুরের বিহার মোড় এলাকায়। স্থানীয় বাসিন্দা সুত্রে জানাযায়, ইসলামপুর ব্লকের অন্তর্গত শ্রীকৃষ্ণপুরের বাসিন্দা অনিল রায় (৪৫), এদিন সকালে সাইকেল চালিয়ে ইসলামপুরের উদ্দেশ্যে যাচ্ছিলেন। সেই সময় ইসলামপুরগামী একটি পিকআপ ভ্যান সাইকেলের পেছনে ধাক্কা মারলে ঘটনাস্থলেই মারা যান অনিল বাবু। উত্তেজিত জনতা বাইপাসের দাবীতে মৃতদেহ আটকে রেখে ৩১ নম্বর জাতীয় সড়ক অবরোধ করে বিক্ষোব দেখাতে শুরু করে। প্রায় ঘণ্টা দুয়েক জাতীয় সড়ক অবরোধের জেরে ৩১ নম্বর জাতীয় সড়কে আটকে বহু দুরপাল্লার বহু গাড়ি। নাকাল হন নিত্যযাত্রী থেকে শুরু করে পরিবহণ কর্মীরা। ঘটনার খবর পেয়ে ইসলামপুর থানার আইসি মক্সেদুর রহমানের নেতৃতে বিশাল পুলিশ বাহিনী ঘটনাস্থলে ছুটে আসে। দীর্ঘক্ষণ ধরে বিক্ষোব কারীদের সঙ্গে কথা বলার পর পুলিশের আশ্বাসে অবরোধ উঠে যায়। পুলিশ মৃতদেহ উদ্ধার করে ইসলামপুর মহকুমা হাসপাতালে ময়নাতদন্তে পাঠায়।
