বিকাশ সাহাঃ উত্তর দিনাজপুর জেলার রায়গঞ্জের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ এলাকায় ২৪ ঘণ্টা নজরদারী চালানোর জন্য যৌথভাবে অভিনব উদ্যোগ নিল জেলা প্রশাসন, রায়গঞ্জ পৌরসভা ও চেম্বার অফ কমার্স। রায়গঞ্জের বিধায়ক মোহিত সেনগুপ্ত বিধায়ক উন্নয়ন তহবিল থেকে ২ লক্ষ টাকা সহ চেম্বার অফ কমার্সের আর্থিক সহয়তায় রায়গঞ্জের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ মোট ১০ টি যায়গায় বসবে সি সি টি ভি ক্যামেরা। সেই উপলক্ষে বুধবার রায়গঞ্জ পৌরসভায় একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ মিটিং এর আয়োজন করা হয়। মিটিং এ উপস্থিত ছিলেন জেলা পুলিশ সুপার সৈয়দ ওয়াকার রেজা, রায়গঞ্জের বিধায়ক তথা রায়গঞ্জ পৌরসভার পৌরপতি মোহিত সেনগুপ্ত, পশ্চিম দিনাজপুর চেম্বার অফ কমার্সের সাধারণ সম্পাদক শঙ্কর কুণ্ডু সহ প্রমুখ।
রায়গঞ্জ শহরের কসবা মোড় থেকে শিলিগুড়ি মোড় পর্যন্ত মোট ১০ টি উন্নত মানের সি সি টি ভি ক্যামেরা লাগানো হবে। রায়গঞ্জের কসবা মোড়, দেবী নগর বাজার মোড়, চৌরঙ্গী মোড়, কালীবাড়ি মোড়, রাজবিহারী মার্কেট মোড়, বিদ্রোহী মোড়, বিবেকানন্দ মোড়, ঘড়ি মোড়, বিধাননগর মোড় ও শিলিগুড়ি মোড়ে লাগানো হবে এই সকল উন্নত মানের সি সি টি ভি ক্যামেরা। এই সকল সি সি টি ভি ক্যামেরা রায়গঞ্জ শহরে বসলে অপরাধীদের চিহ্নিত করে পুলিশ সহজেই অপরাধীদের গ্রেপ্তার করতে পারবে। সেই সঙ্গে কথাও কোনও দুর্ঘটনা ঘটলে খুব তারাতারি পুলিশ প্রশাসন সেই দুর্ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছে যেতে পারবে। খুব শিগ্রয় রায়গঞ্জের রাস্তায় সি সি টি ভি ক্যামেরা বসানোর কাজ শুরু হয়ে যাবে। রায়গঞ্জ থানা থেকে এই সকল ক্যামেরার মনিটারিং করা হবে। এর জন্য থানার মধ্যেই একটি ঘরে কন্ট্রোলরুম খোলা হবে।
