রাজ্যের ৯২ টি পুরসভার ভোটে আধিপত্য বজায় রাখলো তৃণমূল। আগের চেয়ে বেশি আসন পেয়ে সার্বিকভাবে জনগণের রায়ে এই ফল। বিরোধীদের অনেক পিছনে ফেলে দিয়েছে। এবারে দেখা গেল যেখানে বামেরা এগিয়ে থাকে, কিন্তু এবারে তৃণমূল সেই জায়গায় বেশি ধাক্কা দিয়েছে। উত্তরবঙ্গের ছবি আলাদা সেখানে বামেরা ভাল ফল করেছে। আবার দক্ষিণবঙ্গের অশান্তি হয়েছিল বিশেষ করে কাটোয়াতে। সেখানে কংগ্রেসর সাথে সমান লড়াই চালিয়েছে তৃণমূল। শিল্পাঞ্চল এলাকায় তৃণমূল বিরোধীদের একদম নিশ্চিহৃ করে দিয়েছে। মুকুল রায়ের পুত্র শুভ্রাংশু রায় অনেক ভোট পেয়েছে। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেছেন, পুরসভার জয় পশ্চিমবঙ্গের সাধারণ মানুষকে উৎসর্গ করা হল। ভূমিকম্পের জন্য তিনি কর্মীদের বিজয় মিছিল করতে বারণ করেছেন। আরও বলেছেন, ৯মে কবিগুরুর জন্মদিনে রবি প্রণাম করা হবে।
